A big hiccup with the hairdresser was not going to ruffle the feathers of this beautiful bride’s plans for her day. Leah is one of those gorgeous genuine people whose smile and laugh has the uncanny ability to put you at ease the moment you are around her. Add to that, the peaceful and relaxing surroundings of Gabbinbar Homestead and you have the beginning of the perfect wedding day recipe!
Rob and Leah’s love story began at school….. and involved a few very funny and interesting adventures as their love blossomed. The next few years involved circumstances that strengthened their love and their friendship, and I couldn’t help but get the feeling that there is sure to be many more chapters in their story together.
Their ceremony led by Margaret Murray was just right for them. Beside them as they exchanged their personally written vows was Rob’s brother and Leah’s sister and special friends who obviously mean the world to Leah and Rob. They really had picked the perfect bunch of people to not only attend to their needs on the day but to have a whole lot of fun with! I loved how much fun we had together doing the bridal party photos. It was a laugh a minute, literally.
Gabbinbar Homestead has everything you could imagine needing to make a wedding day feel special, relaxed and elegant…. where all the little details are taken care of, and nothing is too much trouble. Deanne and Hannah you guys are awesome at what you do! The staff deserve congratulations for their professional and consistent attention to the guests.
The bridal retreat is the perfect getting ready space with plenty of big mirrors and room for all the bits and bobs the girls need to make themselves extra gorgeous looking. Marnie, from Marnie’s Place Beauty Therapy ensured the girls make up was just right. The bridesmaids dresses broke with tradition while being perfect for the setting.
The boys chose to spend their getting ready morning at Augusta’s Cottage in the historic Mort Estate, doing all the things boys like to do on wedding days.
Dear sweet Colbie, Leah and Rob’s daughter, skipped and twirled and whirled her way through the day as the flower girl, throwing rose petals at any opportunity. She wasn’t quite sure she wanted to be the flower girl before the day though…. because she wanted to marry Mummy! So cute!
The cake was a divine two tiered white and gold tower that was simple and elegant all over…. and when cut revealed lots of layers of pink in various shades.
The Ballroom dance floor was alive and well….. and Leah and Rob’s first dance was taken while their good friend strummed his guitar and sang to everyone’s delight! The photo booth looked after by Claire from In the Booth Toowoomba definitely kept the guests having fun.
Love was definitely in the air…. all day for Leah and Rob.
