I love photographing a wedding where the Bride has gone the extra mile to think through all the details. Pam was definitely that type of Bride. She threw herself into the process boots and all and on their wedding day it really showed.
Not only did she do an awesome job at the planning process she was also a hands-on bride.
Pam made all the bridesmaids dresses herself… she also wrapped all the bouquets…adding a special photo to her bouquet to have a reminder of her Mum with her all day…. created the find-a-word… helped her mother-in-law Jennie with the decorative flowers for the reception tables… wrote her own blackboard signage….. and managed to sail through the day before AND the day of the wedding without turning into a bride-zilla.
Michael, a man of few words, quietly supported the process, happily recognising that Pam had it all in hand! Two beautiful notes with gifts from Michael arrived for Pam during the morning… along with gorgeous flowers.
Pam and Michael used the engagement photos which we did a few months back to send save-the-date cards out to their family and friends. They also had the photos created into an album to have on the welcome table at their reception.
Pam’s dress had a suited her beautifully with a stunning fish tail train. Her veil had little sparkles through it which caught the gorgeous sunlight.
Pam even thought to decorate the road entrance to the winery with special flowers.
Pam’s Dad quietly said to me…. “You know she’s always been a natural beauty, even when she was a baby!” Pam’s Mum has been gone 5 years now… but she was definitely with everyone in their hearts.
It’s hard not to hurry down the aisle with excitement on the day…
Michael turned away so that he couldn’t see Pam until she was at the top of the aisle…. and he told me later that was a favourite moment for him.
There is no shortage of gorgeous spots to have photos at Ocean View Estates Winery especially in spring time so we made the most of the beautiful warm afternoon light.
The meal was delicious… the speeches special and everyone danced the beautiful night away.
